My name is Eloise Barry and I’m a journalist with by-lines in The Guardian, The Telegraph, VICE and others. I’m currently working at TIME magazine’s London bureau as an Editorial Fellow.
I am particularly interested in politics, business, health, society and the environment. I feel that it is my obligation as a journalist to amplify the voices of marginalised groups, to challenge the status quo, and to hold figures of authority to account. As story-tellers, journalists both interpret and influence public consciousness; this is a great responsibility which I believe should be used to promote transparency and equality.
In 2019, I worked as an intern journalist at The Guardian as part of their Positive Action Scheme for Disabilities. In July 2021, myself and two other disabled journalists are launching The Disability Collab, an online supportive space for disabled journalists, including a newsletter and podcast. Watch this space…
